WYRD Café — Privacy Policy

WYRD Café exists to build trust between creators, fans, and the platform holding it all together. We're starting small, and we intend to grow fast — but the way we treat your data isn't going to change with our size. We care about it the same way at ten members as we will at ten million.

What we collect

Depending on how you engage with WYRD — as a member, a fan, a musician, a creative, or a customer of WYRD Shades or WYRD Merch — we collect what's needed to make that work: your name, email, and city for membership; shipping and billing details for purchases; and basic browsing data (pages visited, general location, how you arrived at the site) to understand how people actually use WYRD.

Who we share it with, and why

We don't sell your data, and we don't share it beyond what's genuinely needed to run WYRD:

• PayFast processes membership and Shades payments.
• Shopify powers the WYRD Shades storefront and order history.
• CJ Dropshipping receives shipping details only for Shades orders that need physical fulfillment.
• Fourthwall processes payment and handles fulfillment for WYRD Merch garments — this is a separate system from Shades, with its own independent checkout.
• Resend sends the transactional emails tied to your account — welcome letters, renewal reminders.
• Brevo sends broadcast communications (newsletters, announcements) if you're subscribed, and manages our contact list.
• Matomo, our self-hosted analytics, tracks site behavior — this stays entirely on our own server and is never sent to a third party like Google.

Your rights

Under South Africa's POPIA and the EU's GDPR, you can ask us at any time to show you what we hold on you, correct it, or delete it. We'll act on that request directly and promptly — no runaround, no "check back later."

Security

All data in transit to and from WYRD's sites is encrypted (look for the padlock in your browser). We don't store full payment card details ourselves — that's handled entirely by PayFast, Shopify, and Fourthwall.
